Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 oz silver tequila or mezcal
  • 1 oz orange liquor like Cointreau
  • cinnamon sticks and apple slices for garnish
  • lime
  • ice
  • For the gold rim use a combination of gold sanding sugar or sprinkles and a pinch of cinnamon.

Instructions

  • The first step in making the margarita is to mix a teaspoon of sugar or sprinkles and a 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small shallow dish. If you don't have gold sprinkles - you can totally use coconut sugar, brown sugar or plain white granulated sugar.
  • Run a lime wedge across the rim of the glasses, then dip the glasses into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to adhere and create a sugar rim.
  • Next, fill the glass with ice, add apple cider, tequila, and orange liquor.  The apple cider is sweet enough, that no additional sweetener or simple syrup is necessary here.
  • Stir, add apple slices and cinnamon sticks for garnish. Serve.
