Preheat the oven to 325° F.
Place ham into a roasting pan and pour 1 cup of water into the pan.
Score the ham diagonally with a sharp knife, just through the top of the smoked ham in two directions, creating a diamond pattern.
Insert whole cloves into the center of the scored diamond shapes.
In a small saucepan, mix together the maple syrup, brown sugar, orange juice, mustard, cinnamon and nutmeg. Simmer for 2-3 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring often, until the brown sugar is dissolved.
Brush the ham with the glaze using a pastry brush, getting into the cracks and crevices. You will have some glaze leftover that will be used for basting the ham while cooking.
Place the ham into the oven uncovered and cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Baste the ham with the remaining glaze every 30 minutes.
Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
