Greek Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

Authentic creamy, Greek Tzatziki sauce has grated cucumber, lots of garlic, lemon and fresh dill and mint.  A perfect dip for pita or as a topping for grilled meats and veggies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 English cucumber unpeeled
  • 1 1/2 cups plain full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 large garlic cloves finely minced
  • 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh mint finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh dill chopped

Instructions

  • Grate the cucumber and top with a pinch of salt to draw out the liquid. Drain through a fine mesh sieve or squeeze liquid using a cheesecloth.
  • Combine the yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, mint, dill, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Serve chilled with pita bread for dipping.
