Ingredients

  • 3 cups tomato juice or V-8
  • 1/3 cup pickle juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 dashes of Tabasco
  • 3/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 ounces of vodka or jalapeno-infused vodka per serving

Instructions

  • Prep the homemade Bloody Mary mix.  Stir together the tomato juice, horseradish, pickle juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, celery salt, black pepper, and Tabasco in a large pitcher.  Use a long spoon to stir the mixture well.
  • Rim the glasses your choice of seasonings - celery salt and paprika are great. Before adding ice or anything to the glass, run a lemon wedge along the rim of the glass then roll the rim in a shallow plate with a mix of celery salt and paprika, or Old Bay and Sugar or Cajun Seasonings and Sugar.
  • Fill the glass with ice and add 2 ounces of vodka, then top it off with the Bloody Mary mix you prepared.
  • Garnish with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

To make jalapeno-infused vodka, mix together 1/4 cup fresh or hot pickled jalapenos and 20 oz of vodka in a large glass jar with a lid.   Allow the jalapeno's to infuse the vodka for a minimum of 30 minutes, up to overnight depending on the spiciness you want.
