2016 Safeway Monopoly Shop, Play, Win! Game
Safeway just launched a new Monopoly Shop, Play, Win game that runs February 3rd through May 3rd. This is a popular game that was brought to Safeway from Albertsons as a result of the merger. The game is also in effect at Albertsons locations with the same board and game pieces.

How does it work:
1. Pick up a Monopoly Game Board at your local Safeway store.
2. Every time you shop at Safeway, you get a game ticket. You will also get an additional “bonus” game tickets by purchasing specially tagged products. Inside the game tickets, you will find 4 game markers, and either a Special Discount Offer, Online Game Code, Instant Win Prize or 2 free Game Tickets Coupons.
3. Stick the tickets to the Monopoly board to win great prizes. Or, play online with the online game tickets.
Certain game pieces will have a online game code which is a 12 alpha-numeric code that you will be able to enter online at www.playmonopoly.us.

I suggest if you have kids 8 and older that you get them involved in sticking the tickets to the board because it can be time consuming, but fun also for them!

I replied to a comment above, where I stipulated I also need one piece for each section. I have been going to Safeway for years and although I think the employees are nice, the games aren’t!
Has anyone ever won anything?
I saw a sales clerk give 20 pieces to the person in front of me who only spent $ 5.00 yet I received 2 for the $ 32 that I spent.
Wouldn’t it be better to have some small prizes so people don’t feel like they are getting taken advantage of?
This whole thing makes me want to shop elsewhere. I really do not appreciate false advertising.
Besides I bought a potato, an onion and some green beans- all were rotten and had to be thrown away.
Maybe Safeway should spend a little more on looking at their produce than on this phony Monopoly game.

As you shop throughout the store, you can get game pieces from purchasing items so that person in front of you probably bought a lot of those items that gave away free game pieces. It’s not based on how much you spend. Not sure where the false advertising comes from. Personally, I like that I’m given the opportunity to win something for what would normally be just another trip for food and it gives my kids something fun to do while I’m putting away our groceries.
I have seen the same thing at my local store, I have even seen employees making purchases before going home and getting a hand full of green ( customer) game pieces.
I here ya. I began putting the codes in to see if I have won anything. They will say you have won a FREE Shutterfly Reusable Shopping bag as reward and when I go to claim it I can’t find it. I get sent to different sites like Ebay who are advertising the thing at a variety of prices. This game is a way to get you to go spend your money. I have yet to find this FREE Shutterfly shopping bag. I can’t find help. I keep getting sent to the place I started at.

You can pick up the Board at Safeway for free.
This was a joke I won a prize 2 more game pieces whoopy all that work iust for more game pieces.

I think it is very impossible to win anything not even a $5 gift card. I am almost done with the entire game board and I am missing one rare piece for each and so far have not win a thing because it doesn’t matter how much you spent at Safeway still the same duplicate game pieces all the time.. I doubt if I will even get a chance to find one rare piece.
So true, I am also missing one piece for each section. I played before, (a few years back), and the same thing happened. This is the last time I’m playing., Shame on Safeway, my favorite store!
Anyone get an instant win code on the playmonopoly.us website? I got two today and haven’t taken them in to redeem them yet but was curious what others have won?
I won online today, just “two free game pieces”. It tells you on the printout what you win. I have to redeem it at the store.
You never win anything with instant win other than 2 tickets. This game totally sucks. All this time and work and I don’t know anyone who has won anything.
The ” playmonopoly.us” website does not open up at all! Very disappointing to get message that the the server for this site cannot be found!

I have 14 tickets and when I have tried to log in on two different web browsers I get code 403 when will the site be up or is there a different website.
It works for me https://www.playmonopoly.us/login But I used the Monopoly app and found it super easy to scan the tickets. Try it out.
Try using a different web browser i.e Fire Fox etc.

I’m very disappointed in the way this promotion was executed. It could have easily been incorporated into each customer’s receipt instead of requiring the printing of all of the paper boards and coupons. Codes could have been entered online and collected on an online board. That would have freed the cashiers from having to manage them, and the customers from having to spend hours ripping up little bits of paper. After entering an online code, and winning an extra ticket, I was encouraged to print out an entire sheet of paper to take to the store to redeem it. This could be completely avoided by sending it to the users cell phone. It’s an incredible waste of resources and an astounding lack of use of available technology. Please rethink this program for the future.
