Lavva Yogurt Review

Joining the tiny refrigerated section of coconut, soy and almond yogurts is a rare new nut making a it’s debut in the plant-based non dairy yogurt category, thanks to Lavva Yogurt company.  The Pili nut is at the heart of Lavva’s new vegan, plant-based yogurt, which the company says it’s the first U.S. product to incorporate the earthy pili nut.

Pronounced ‘peel-ee’ nut, the Pili nuts are grown on trees found in tropical volcanic soil in the Phillipines, South East Asia and Northern Australia.  The Pili nut contains more Vitamin E  than any other nut, and has a rich, buttery flavor and texture that is often found in plant-based yogurts.

The rich tree nut is shaped like a long, slender almond with a taste described best as an earthy macadamia nut.

Lavva Blueberry Flavor Yogurt

The Lavva Blueberry Yogurt has a vibrant purple berry color and a delicious, yet slightly tart blueberry flavor.  Blueberries are naturally tart, and because there is no added sugar in this yogurt, that tartness comes through.  There is definitely a slight nutty flavor to the yogurt and a great creamy texture complemented with tiny pieces of blueberries in the yogurt. Each 5.3 oz cup of Blueberry Lavva Yogurt 150 calories, 11 grams of fat, 7 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein.

Made with organic coconut water, organic coconut cream, organic blueberries, plantains, organic pili nuts, organic coconut powder, organic cassava root powder, organic lime juice, Himalayan salt, and live vegan probiotic cultures.

Lavva Original Flavor

The Lavva Original flavor is a creamy, slightly tart dairy free yogurt.  It has a delicious nuttiness to it and I was surprised by the tartness, but it’s because it contains no sugar. It makes the perfect base for mix-ins like granola, fresh fruits and even a touch of honey.  Each 5.3 oz cup contains 150 calories, 13 grams of fat, 7 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein.

Made with organic coconut water, organic coconut cream, plantains, organic pili nuts, organic cassava root powder, organic lime juice, Himalayan salt, and live vegan probiotic cultures.

Lavva Pineapple Flavor

The Lavva Pineapple flavor is my favorite of the Lavva flavored yogurts and it has a delicious pineapple flavor that reminds me of a pina colada.  With the coconut, pineapple and plaintain in there – it’s a perfectly balanced tropical delight.  Each 5.3 oz cup contains 160 calories, 11 grams of fat, 7 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein.

Made with organic coconut water, organic coconut cream, organic pineapple, plantains, organic pili nuts, organic cassava root powder, organic lime juice, Himalayan salt, and live vegan probiotic cultures.

Lavva Strawberry Flavor

The Lavva Strawberry Yogurt is light pink in color with little pieces of strawberries throughout.  It has a delightful, subtle strawberry flavor that is the perfect base for additional mix-ins like granola, coconut chips, and fresh fruit.  Each 5.3 oz cup contains 150 calories, 11 grams of fat, 7 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein.

Made with organic coconut water, organic coconut cream, organic strawberries, plantains, organic pili nuts, organic cassava root powder, organic lime juice, Himalayan salt, and live vegan probiotic cultures.

Lavva Yogurt Raspberry

Lavva Yogurt Raspberry Flavor

The Lavva raspberry Yogurt is also slightly tart, but a bit sweeter than the strawberry.  It has a light pink flavor and did not have any raspberry pieces, like the blueberry and strawberry yogurts.  It’s creamy and delicious.  Each 5.3 oz cup contains 140 calories, 11 grams of fat, 7 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein.

Made with organic coconut water, organic coconut cream, organic raspberries, plantains, organic pili nuts, organic coconut powder, organic cassava root powder, organic lime juice, Himalayan salt, live vegan probiotic cultures.

  1. I LOVE the blueberry and the original… I keep trying the raspberry, because I like raspberries- but I don’t like it… I can’t figure out why?? The blueberry is really good.

  2. I must have gotten a bad batch of the pineapple. It was very very sour and grainy. Didn’t mind the grainy but too sour. I probably won’t buy Lavva again.
