The rice aisle is getting a makeover with new deliciously nutritious rice from RightRice. RightRice is made with 90% vegetables (lentils, chickpeas, and peas) and is packed with 10 grams of complete plant-based protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving.
Perfect for anyone interested in consuming a healthy diet full of protein, fiber, and lower net carbs. RightRice is especially beneficial for consumers following a vegetarian, vegan, or flexitarian diet as they typically have to combine ingredients to get complete proteins. RightRice has done all the work providing a complete protein in a delicious plant-based grain!
Not only does RightRice deliver more than 2x the protein, 5x the fiber, and almost 40% fewer net carbs than a bowl of white rice, it is also non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, low glycemic, and kosher.
RightRice has 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber, compared to 5 grams of protein and zero fiber in white rice. This equates to 25 grams net carbs for RightRice vs. 39 grams net carbs in white rice.

Safeway currently carries the Original, Spanish, and Garlic Herb varieties in the Denver Division stores.
RightRice sent me a package of each flavor available at Safeway and you can see my review and thoughts of the product below.
How to Cook RightRice
Cooking RightRice is easier than cooking traditional rice and is very much like cooking couscous. You’ll bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan, then remove the pan from the heat and add the RightRice.
Cover then let it stand for about 10 minutes off the heat. Fluff with a fork, or stir with a spoon just before serving or mixing with other ingredients. Easy peasy!
Below you can see the fluffed Spanish Rice and Garlic Herb Rice after 10 minutes.
It’s so easy to make and clean-up is a cinch as well. No glued-on rice stuck to the bottom of the pan.
Original RightRice Review
Similar to white rice, the Original ReadyRice doesn’t really have a strong flavor until you add your own seasonings, veggies, or sauces. It has a good texture, with a nice bite to it. The original rice makes an excellent base for any rice salad, cilantro-lime rice, a grain bowl, stir fry, and fried rice. I added frozen mixed vegetables and scrambled eggs and made a vegetable fried rice that I served alongside honey, garlic shrimp and it made for a delicious and nutritious meal.
The obvious benefit is that you don’t get that carb coma as you can get after eating rice where you are hungry again in 30 minutes. There is enough protein in the rice that you feel satiated with just a small serving. That’s a win-win!

Garlic Herb RightRice Review
The Garlic Herb RightRice is incredibly flavorful and is a perfect addition to any grain bowl or as a side dish. It packs a potent garlic and herb punch that satisfies the pickiest of pallets. The garlic herb rice would complement any chicken, beef, or seafood main proteins. It would also be delicious with mushrooms, spinach, pinenuts, and goat cheese.

Spanish RightRice Review
The Spanish RightRice was a family favorite of the three flavors. It’s perfectly seasoned with tomatoes, peppers, and garlic. Since we eat a lot of Mexican food, it’s become a go-to side dish for enchiladas, fajitas, and quesadillas.
I prepared the Spanish RightRice into a chicken fajita bowl with sauteed peppers, onions, zucchini, fajita seasoned chicken breast, black beans, and cheese. It was a delicious meal that is now on repeat at my house!
The Spanish rice would also make a perfect paella with the right flavor profile for the sausage and seafood!
