Free Workout Programs at Home

While the gym and yoga studios may be closed through the month because of the global pandemic and resulting quarantine, you can still get your workout in thanks to these free workout programs that are available for you to join online from the comfort of your living room.

Grab your partner or your kids and join the free workout movement to stay in shape or get in shape during our quarantine.  If you don’t have gym equipment at home, that’s ok, simply head to your pantry where you can use a bag of flour, some heavy canned foods or a case of sparkling water as your weights.

You can also go to Amazon and order some basic equipment since this quarantine will last longer than anyone anticipated.  I recommend having a set of 10 – 15 lb. weights, an exercise ball, and a resistance band.   A yoga mat is great too, especially if you have hardwood floors.

Dancing is a great stress relief and is a FREE workout as well.  Put on some tunes and have a dance party with the kids.  The kids have been practicing routines they see on Tik Tok, which has been entertaining, to say the least.  We’ve also been practicing Greek dancing even though the festival at which they perform will be delayed.  It’s still a fabulous workout and helps with maintaining daily activity.

Shoot for 30 minutes of moderate cardio or weight training a day.   Eating nutrient-dense foods is as important as ever.  Check out the best foods to eat to boost your immunity.

Obviously walking is a great free workout, as is hitting up your local trails as long as social distancing is maintained.

Local Colorado blogger, Chris Englert has an entire website dedicated to Colorado trails.  Check out Denver By Foot to see the best trails for your family to visit this month.
