Good Culture Cottage Cheese Review
New at Safeway, you will find new ultra-creamy, tangy and full of flavor cottage cheese from Good Culture. The delicious cottage cheese is a new high protein, non-GMO option made with grass-fed milk. The milk comes from cows that roam free on small sustainable family farms in the mid-west. There are no additives, thickeners, preservatives or stabilizers.
With three times the amount of protein and about half the sugar of yogurt, cottage cheese has always been considered a better-for-you food, but now it’s even better with real food and simple ingredients. According to Good Culture shopper marketing manager, Tanner Smith, “We want to support sustainable farming practices and only get our dairy from pasture-raised cows with full outdoor access to eat grass and play…ya know, as nature intended.”
A perfect breakfast, lunch or snack, Good Culture is high in protein with 16 – 19 grams per serving. It’s also low in sugar, which makes it perfect after a workout for refueling or any time of day without any artificial ingredients or preservatives.
Cottage cheese is also an easy protein add for salads, or to use as a dip with veggies. Whether you like it sweet or savory, cottage cheese is high in probiotics, so your gut will thank you. Check out healthy snacking ideas using cottage cheese here.

How does Good Culture compare to traditional cottage cheeses on the market?
A quick comparison of labels shows a striking contrast of ingredients with many of the products on the market that have added ingredients like preservatives, stabilizers, and gums. As an example, you can see the ingredients in a national store brand 2% Cottage cheese product below which has 13 ingredients, compared to the classic Good Culture cottage cheese which only has 5 ingredients. Good Culture may have a shorter shelf life, but you won’t want it hanging out in the fridge, you’ll want to eat it up!
National Store Brand Cottage Cheese Ingredients: Cultured Pasteurized Grade A Fat Free Milk, Pasteurized Fat Free Milk, Salt, Cultured Grade A Dairy Solids (Grade A Whey, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid Culture), Dry Grade A Whey, Maltodextrin, Titanium Dioxide (Color), Guar Gum, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Carrageenan, Locust Bean Gum, Carbon Dioxide (to Help Maintain Freshness), Vitamin A Palmitate.
As an added bonus of purchasing Good Culture Cottage Cheese, the company gives 1% of sales back to the planet and they also team up with Kiss the Ground as well to support regenerative agriculture education and stewardship. The bottom line, you can feel good about eating and buying Good Culture Cottage Cheese.
