Open Nature Scandal Less-Ice Cream Review
I picked up three pints of the new Scandal Less Ice Cream at my local Safeway to try. If you’ve been following our blog for any time, you know my affinity for real ice cream, especially the new super-premium Signature RESERVE Ice Cream, but because summer is around the corner and I have three young kids that will want to go to the pool this summer, indulging in lighter ice cream is the smarter option at this time.
The best part is that I don’t feel like I am making a huge sacrifice with this light ice cream! My husband is a huge fan because of the low sugar in this ice cream!
I tried the Scandal Less Sea Salt Caramel flavor and it was creamy, full of flavor and delicious!
There was a lot of swirled caramel throughout the cup and with 18 grams of protein per cup, I did not feel guilty about eating half a pint in one sitting.
The peanut butter cup ice cream is incredibly indulgent tasting – just like a smashed peanut butter cup mixed with chocolate ice cream – so yummy! This was my husband’s favorite ice cream hands down – he loved the peanut butter chocolate combination.
The cookies and cream variety is made with organic cookies and cream and it had a ton of cookie chunks throughout the pint. My kiddos loved the cookies and cream and they said they couldn’t tell it was a lower calorie option.

I bought the Scandal-Less chocolate ice cream bars (on a stick). They are tasteless. I will never buy these again.
Bought the cookie dough ice cream. There were 2 cookie dough pieces. Will not buy again!
I purchased Open Nature Scandel-Less Peanut Butter Cup ice cream from Acme today. When I opened it, the container was not full and had a layer of freezer burn on the top. This product was inedible. Paying almost $5 for a pint of ice cream, I expect at the very least for the pint to be full and not have a layer of ice. I am incredibly disappointed. I have photos, but there is no where to attach them.
This happened to me as well.

Seriously disappointed. When I buy ice cream… expecially COOKIE DOUGH
I expect to get more than 3 pieces of cookie dough in the boring vanilla ice cream… I’d also take more than 4 pieces of chocolate chips too.
Seriously not worth even a penny.
Absolutely the worst stuff I’ve ever tasted. The carton was only half full and thank god because it sucks. The texture was also like freezer burn ice.
Bottom line I hated it. I really feel like I was ripped off.

I bought 3 cartons of scandal-less ice cream today and they have different amounts of the product in them. I took a photo, but see no way to attach it here. Actually, this is the second time this has happened. You need more quality control and I feel cheated.

I won’t buy again. I have bought three. AND as the poster said above there are various amounts in the carton. Two was only half full and the other was 2/3 full. DISAPPOINTED is putting it mildly

If you’re buying ice cream other than this brand you might want to check Catalina machine to see if it prints out a coupon for the Open Nature Scandal-Less Ice Cream. Twice in last week when I bought other types of Ice Cream (Signature Select/Reserve) at Safeway Catalina printed out for $1.50/1 on any 1 (one) Open Nature Scandal-Less Ice Cream Pint coupon (with small print saying price before coupon must be $1.99 or more).
Awesome tip! I also got Catalina coupons for the Open Nature Dairy free ice cream and the Signature RESERVE Ice Cream, the trigger must indeed be ice cream!
