Pumpkin Hand Pies
Your family will love these little pumpkin hand pies! You can make these sweet, small pies that fit in your hand in under an hour. Warm pockets filled with the flavors of pumpkin, cinnamon, and vanilla, they’re a cozy treat any time of year.
Today is national pumpkin pie day – so we are sharing an easy pumpkin hand pie recipe that you can make at home for all your pumpkin pie fans.
By using a pre-made pie dough crust, you save time but still achieve the flaky crust which is the best part of the pie!
The hand pies are topped with a sweet cream cheese glaze so you won’t need whipped cream as a topping. Of course, you can always add whipped cream if you wish, but the pies are delicious without!

Pie Crust and Filling
- 1/2 cup O Organics® 100%pure pumpkin
- 2 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 Tbs pure maple syrup
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 premade pie dough crusts (rolled out into 10″ circle)
Icing
- 4 oz softened cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp milk
For brushing pastry
- 1 Tbs whipping cream
How to Make Pumpkin Hand Pies
Preheat oven to 375º.
Using a mixer, combine pumpkin, cream cheese, maple syrup, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla until well mixed. Set aside.
Spread pie dough and using a 5-inch round cutter make the circles.
Whisk together whipping cream, maple syrup, and cinnamon.
Taking a round piece of dough, place about 3 tablespoons of filling in the center and fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape. Brush edges with whipping cream mixture.
Using fork tines, seal edges of the pastry.
Place pies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush top with whipping cream mixture.
Bake 16-20 minutes, until bottoms are golden brown. Let cool 30 minutes.
