Monte Cristo Casserole

The perfect make-ahead brunch meal for Mother’s Day, this Monte Cristo Casserole combines the best of ham, cheese, and French toast in one delicious casserole that can be assembled overnight and baked in the morning.

A Monte Cristo is traditionally made with ham and cheese sandwiched between two thick slices of bread, dipped in an egg and milk custard and pan-fried in butter to golden perfection.

It’s traditionally topped with a dusting of powdered sugar and served with raspberry preserves.

This Monte Cristo Bake combines all of that delicious goodness in a healthier casserole that you can make ahead and serve for brunch.  Assemble the casserole the night before and let the flavors soak overnight and bake it off in the morning for a perfect treat on Mother’s Day!
