We had incredible meat specials this week – and I always like to plan my meals around what’s on sale each week! When there are awesome deals on meat, I even stock the freezer so that I have options for future meal deals when I don’t feel like running to the store. This week I stocked up on chuck roasts ($3.99/lb.), pork shoulder roasts at $1.59/lb., boneless, skinless chicken breasts at $1.88/lb. and Eckrich Smoked Dinner Sausages at $2.50 each. The chicken leg quarters are also super cheap so you could also add a meal for those at just $.69/lb.
Here’s what I’m making for the week:
Grilled Sausages with Sauteed Peppers and Onions and buttered egg noodles
USDA Chuck Pot Roast with Potatoes ($3.99/lb for roast and $1.29 for a 10 lb. bag of potatoes), Celery and Carrots ($1.50 for 1 lb bag of mini peeled carrots)
BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches on Coast to Coast Hoagie Rolls (only $2.49 everyday at Safeway) served with Roasted Butternut Squash ($.79/lb.)
Chicken Parmesan with Barilla Pasta ($1.25 on sale) and Texas Toast Garlic Bread ($1.50), served with C&W Broccoli that I got free last week.
English Muffin Pizzas with Hormel Pepperoni’s (on sale for $3.50), Cobblestone English Muffins ($1.24) served with O Organics salads (on sale for $2.49 with coupon)
I also stocked up on organic raspberries ($2.99 each) for kids lunches, O Organics salads for my lunches, Frigo ricotta for next weeks dinner, avocados for guacamole, Oroweat bread ($1.24) for toast, and $.99 Granny Smith apples for lunches.
What are you planning to make this week with all the awesome deals at Safeway?
