Safeway Prepared Thanksgiving Dinner To Go 2025
Don’t stress about cooking a complete Thanksgiving meal this season. Let Safeway or Albertsons help with a prepared Thanksgiving dinner to go, complete with all the sides. There are several options, starting at $79.99. Choose from a whole turkey or a spiral-sliced ham. Safeway also used to offer a prime rib option, but that has since been discontinued in the Mountain West division in 2025, likely due to higher-than-usual beef prices. It’s still available in other divisions for $99.99.
Furthermore, the meals arrive frozen, so you will need 2 days for all the food to thaw. Nonetheless, the fully cooked meal will need 2-3 hours to reheat.
Additionally, you can purchase extra side dishes, which are available from your local in-store deli.
You can choose from extra potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes with maple syrup, gravy, cranberry sauce, or spiced apples.
See below for the Thanksgiving meal, side pricing details, cooking times, and tips. Next, you can watch the video below that shows the meal kits and cooking times for each item in the prepared holiday ham kit.

Cooking Instructions for Prepared Thanksgiving Meals
Safeway recently sent me the prepared holiday ham meal to create a video to feature the complete meal. Hence, my tips and tricks for preparing a holiday meal are below.
You’ll need to plan ahead because the sides were completely frozen and needed 2-3 days to thaw in the refrigerator.
- The Smithfield Spiral Sliced ham is fully cooked and needs to be glazed and heated. Hence, allow for 1.5 hours for the ham to cook at 400°.
- The scalloped potatoes need a casserole dish, therefore, I used an 11″ x 7″ baking dish and baked them covered for 40 minutes at 350°
- Because the green bean casserole does not come with fried onions, you will need to purchase them separately. I used a 10″ x 7″ baking dish. Cook uncovered for 30 minutes at 350°.
- Cook the mashed sweet potatoes in the microwave for 3 minutes, uncovered. I used an oval baking dish (10″ x 7″).
- Warm the mashed potatoes in the microwave for 3 minutes, with the plastic wrap vented.
- Heat the stuffing in the microwave for 1 minute, or in the oven for 25 minutes at 350°.
- The spiced apples are cooked in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. Therefore, any microwave bowl will work here.
- Conversely, the cranberry sauce does not need to be cooked, just served in a pretty bowl.
- Finally, the gravy can be cooked in the microwave or on the stovetop (I would choose the stovetop to free up the microwave for the side dishes).
All-in-all, we were impressed with the flavor of the meal and ease of preparation. Indeed, I feel if you know these cooking times, the size of baking dishes needed, and make a plan ahead of time, it will make your holiday celebration go smoothly and no one has to know it was a fully purchased prepared meal they enjoyed.

Are these prepared dinners offered at other times? Planning our Thanksgiving dinner for Saturday, Nov. 28 since my husband works on Thanksgiving day.
Yes, you can order and pick up on Nov. 28th.
Are the prepared mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner made from scratch?
Yes they are scratch-made from real potatoes, not flakes or dehydrated potatoes. Made from Russet potatoes perfectly blended with butter and fresh milk. A superb mashed potato recipe with a rich and satisfying taste. All Natural recipe with a short ingredient list. Made without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.

At my safeway they show the ham diner for $59.99. But when I try to order it online wkth my store they only show a turkey dinner and it won’t even let me order that. Why show something I can’t even purchase.
Same here, I’m guessing that it’s sold out.
Hello, if I schedule pickup for Monday evening would it still be good for Thanksgiving? Or will the meat dry out? We are staying and hour in a half away so wanted to pick up on our way out.

Hi Teri – yes you can use your EBT card for the meal.
Are you positive that you can use EBT because the store I contacted told me that I cannot use my EBT
Yes Safeway said because the meal is cold that EBT can be used. If you need the email from Safeway – I’m happy to provide.
Hi! May I also please get a copy of the email from Safeway stating they’ll accept ebt for these meals?
Hi, Safeway’s response is since the meals are sold cold, they ARE eligible for EBT.
Yes, I just confirmed with Safeway again this morning that because the meals are sold cold, EBT can be used.
