How Big of a Turkey Should I Buy?
The rule of thumb is one and a half pounds of turkey per person to determine the size of turkey you need. Once you have a size in mind, head to your local Safeway to pick up your free turkey early and store it in your freezer until 4 days before Thanksgiving.

So if you want a beer or a pack of cigarettes you don’t get a free turkey. Customer service should not single out people who drink or smoke and penalize them. I spent $222 for holiday shopping today typically spend $600 a month for normal groceries. This experience sticks in my crawl so badly because we wanted a bottle of wine for Thanksgiving. Being old and targeting people with bad eye sight is no excuse for “advertising we use every year” as an excuse for it to be okay. You know over 80% of people read the top and catch people all the time. For me I went out of my way passing walmart, coscto, fredmeyers to get a free turkey. Because there is so much of a choice for shopping I doubt I will ever be back, I am soo insulted. It is just a turkey an extra $30 I had to pay, but the principal… I didn’t have to pass all of your competition just because the large print said free turkey won’t happen again bad customer service is poor advertising small print.
Is this still on?

Safeway says they will not honor this
Catherine, Where are you located? This offer should be honored at all Safeway stores in the Denver division, which includes CO, NM, NE, WY and SD. I have not seen any turkey offers in the other divisions ads yet, but they will likely be released next week and hopefully be the same.
