I just shopped at Safeway and ask for the Military discount and presented my ID. They said this does not apply to them. This is store 1566 Chandler az. I spent $202.00
The military discount is only offered on the first Saturday of every month.
Then why does this says the discount is good thru the month of November?
Hi Duane – I apologize, the post you are referencing is from 2020. Last year Safeway was offering a military discount in the month of November. Typically Safeway offers a military discount of 10% on the first Saturday of every month. I apologize for the confusion and will update the post to reference that information.
Sad that this excludes MOST veterans who served and sacrificed.
I’m sorry, who do you feel is excluded? The military discount is for all active and retired military.
When you serve 4 years in the military you are not considered active or retired. You can provide proof of veteran (typically with drivers license) but no longer have a military ID.
I see. Sorry I was unaware.
This seems to be only for active duty or retired military (who receive military pensions). It seems to exclude the majority of veterans, including Vietnam and Gulf wars vets, who enlisted or were (in case of Vietnam) drafted, and who were discharged with honor after their lengths of service.
Military discount does this also apply to military retired with military ID
Hi Reggie, yes it does.
