Signature SELECT Soleil & Caffeine Sparkling Water – New at Safeway

Soleil+Caffeine

Soleil & Caffeine Sparkling Water

Sparkling water with caffeine is a thing!  The refreshing bubbly beverage that many have come to love is now available with caffeine to give you a perk in your step during the day or as you get ready to rock the night away.

Safeway’s extremely popular sparkling water line, Soleil, has been expanded with the launch of three new flavors with caffeine.

In addition to the 14 current popular flavors, you can also purchase Lime, Blood Orange, and Grapefruit Soleil sparkling water with caffeine.

There is hardly a noticeable difference in the taste – it’s still the same pure clean, crisp sparkling water beverage, but it’s now caffeinated naturally with the addition of green coffee beans.

According to Maryrose Rinella, Albertsons Senior Product Director, Beverage Category,  “Sparkling water is one of the fastest-growing beverage segments as more consumers replace caffeinated soda drinks and even alcohol with sparkling water and as existing consumers increase their consumption frequency.

Water gets a jolt: The need for energy is a common beverage consumption occasion and one of the strongest selling points for drinks such as coffee, tea, energy drinks, and carbonated soft drinks.”

The next time you are thirsting for a caffeinated beverage, you can choose Soleil sparkling water with caffeine to get the added energy you need for the moment.  A great alternative to soda because the sparkling water has no sugar or calories, yet is full of bubbles and big flavor.

The movement away from sugar, coupled with an interest in hydration and energy, shows strong potential for caffeinated sparkling water.

The refreshment and energy boost of caffeinated water is highly appealing to health-conscious consumers looking for an alternative to caffeinated soda drinks and energy drinks.

How Much Caffeine is in Soliel & Caffeine Sparkling Water?

The three caffeinated flavors contain 35 milligrams of added caffeine.  The caffeine comes from green coffee beans.

Green coffee beans are actually the seeds from the fruit of coffee trees.   Coffee beans are green when they are removed from the fruit of the tree. It is the roasting process that changes them from green beans to the various shades of brown you find in store-bought coffee. The shade of brown depends on your roast preference.

How does the amount of caffeine compare to other caffeinated beverages?

Regular Coca-Cola contains 34 milligrams of caffeine and Diet Coke has 46 milligrams. The average cup of coffee has about 95 milligrams and the average iced tea has 26 mg. in one 8 oz cup.

So, while you won’t get the same caffeine jolt as drinking a cup of coffee, you’ll get more caffeine than iced tea and about the same as your favorite soda.

The Soleil sparkling water 12 packs retail for $4.29.  The sparkling water is on sale for $2.50 a 12 pack through June 2nd.

Pair the sale with a Just for U Digital Coupon available Friday, May 29th through Sunday, May 31st for $1.49 Soleil Sparkling Water or Signature SELECT Soda or Mixers.  You can try all three flavors of the caffeinated sparkling water for just $1.49 after the deal.

You can also use sparkling water to make mocktails and cocktails.  Rather than reach for an energy drink or soda as a cocktail mixer, reach for the new Soliel & Caffeine beverage.  You can add to freshly squeezed orange juice and vodka to make a sparkling screwdriver, or mix with fresh blood orange juice to make a blood orange mocktail.

  1. All the Jewel Food Stores by me (Lombard, Illinois) have stopped carrying the Soleil with caffeine. Will they bring it back or will other locations have it? I have switched to Bubly with caffeine and it’s just not the same.

    1. Hi Jeff, I asked and was told that the Jewell division discontinued the Soleil+ Caffeine because it was not a strong seller in that market. So sorry! I personally love it and feel your pain! Maybe a road trip is in order to stock up! 😉
