Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon Recipe

Grilling salmon over cedar planks gives salmon a delicious smoky cedar flavor.  It’s really easy and definitely worth the effort.  Safeway sells the cedar planks in the seafood department for $6.99 for 2 large cedar planks.

Simply soak the planks before you use them so that they don’t burn.  Take advantage of the sale on Atlantic salmon at Safeway this week to prepare Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon for dinner this week.

Ingredients:

How to Grill Salmon on Cedar Planks

1. Preheat grill to medium (375º-425º). On cedar planks, place 3 lime slices in a row and top with salmon portion. Repeat with remaining limes and salmon portions. Two salmon portions should fit per plank. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

2. In a small dish combine lime zest, brown sugar and cumin. Sprinkle on top of salmon portions.

3. Place cedar planks on grill for 12-15 minutes, or until desired doneness.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cedar Planks soaked in water for 1-2 hours before grilling
  • 12 lime slices
  • 4-5 ounce skinless salmon portions
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • zest of 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cumin
