Open Nature Date Bars
As you walk down the granola bar aisle, you’ll see the latest innovation from Open Nature – Date Bars. The nutritious date bars are made with real, all-natural wholesome ingredients like dates, peanuts, and chocolate.
Perfect for providing long-lasting energy when you need it, like during a hike, a bike ride, or your next spinning class. They are also a great snacking option in the afternoon when you need an all-natural energy boost to get through the day.
The bars are non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, vegan, and dairy-free, so you can feel good about eating them or serving your family!
High in fiber, with a low glycemic index, these date bars will not spike your blood sugar. Great for sustained energy!
The new Open Nature Date Bars have a similar texture to a Larabar with a very clean ingredient profile with just 3 – 4 ingredients per bar.
Available in two flavors – peanut butter and peanut butter chocolate chip. They are both delicious.
Chewy, sweet, slightly crunchy from the peanuts, these bars are an excellent all-natural, minimally processed snack!
Open Nature Peanut Butter Date Bars
With just three ingredients, the peanut butter date bars are a no-brainer snack. They are delicious, nutritious, and perfect for on-to-go snacking.
Ingredients: dates, peanuts, sea salt
Each bar has 160 calories, 7 grams of fat, 55 mg. of sodium, 20 total carbs, of which 13 grams is sugar and 3 grams of fiber, and 4 grams of protein.
Dates have an excellent nutrition profile. They are often used for making energy bars because they are naturally sweet, sticky and act as a great binder.
I’ve always used dates in my peanut butter chocolate chip energy balls.
Open Nature Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Date Bars
The chocolate chip peanut butter date bars have just one more ingredient than their peanut butter counterpart – the addition of chocolate chips, which provides antioxidants!
Ingredients: dates, peanuts, chocolate chips, sea salt
Each bar has 160 calories, 7 grams of fat, 60 mg. of sodium, 21 total carbs of which 14 grams is sugar and 3 grams is fiber, and 4 grams of protein.
You can find the new Open Nature Date Bars in the Cereal and Granola Bar aisle at your local Safeway.
The date bars retail for $4.39 a package for 5 bars, which is just $.88 per bar.
While they are slightly smaller than Larabar date bars, 1.34 oz compared to a 1.6 oz Larabar, they are a perfect size for adding to a lunchbox or throwing in your purse when you need a quick high fiber, high energy snack.

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Safeway to introduce you to its new Open Nature Date Bars. As always opinions and images are my own. I appreciate and encourage your support of the brands that make this site possible.
I have tried to buy open nature date bars peanut butter and have been told by the Safeway store manager, after trying to order them, that they are discontinued. This website says they are new? Please let me know where I cab purchase them. Thank you.
Hi Linda – The date bars were launched in 2020. I don’t see them available on Safeway.com any longer, so they may indeed have been discontinued.
