Watermelon Smoothie Bowl
Brighten up breakfast with our smooth and creamy Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie Bowl. Fresh fruit, coconut milk and Greek yogurt blend to create a flavorful morning treat. Personalize it by topping it with coconut flakes, chia seeds, almonds or blueberries.
Smoothie Bowls are so delicious and easy to make and they make a great breakfast or snack option that you can eat with a spoon. Take advantage of the HOT sale on fresh seedless watermelons at Safeway to make a watermelon smoothie this week.
Many people prefer smoothie bowls to just drinking smoothies because while they are virtually the same, you actually feel like you are eating something with a spoon, rather than just downing a smoothie in a glass.
Here is a great recipe to use the watermelon in a smoothie bowl.
Watermelon Smoothie bowls combine yogurt, watermelon, coconut milk, honey and fresh strawberries and you can choose any toppings you like to put on top of the bowls. I love toasted almonds, fresh blueberries and toasted shaved coconut.
For extra protein, you can add chia seeds into the blender with the fruit, and you won’t taste them at all! I add chia to every smoothie I make.
Safeway has fresh whole seedless watermelons on sale for $4.88 each with a Just for U Digital Coupon through August 10th.
